Project Overview
As passionate life-long animal enthusiasts, the founders of Creatures of Comfort are a small Australian family business based in Fremantle Western Australia. After discovering a need in the market for quality dog beds, Jess and Trent scoured the world to find and purvey the best luxury dog beds to the Australian market.
They are the sole distributor of George Barclay England dog beds in Australia, which are considered to be the Cadillac of dog beds, unparalleled in their quality and comfort. The Dilate team wanted to build a website for them that was simple but elegant, and would reflect the fun and friendly nature of their business.
Development and Design
As Creatures of Comfort was targeted to primarily be an e-commerce site, we chose to build it on Shopify, which is the leading e-commerce platform designed for businesses of all sizes. We focused on building features that would help customers make easier purchase decisions, such as a 3-step dog bed selector, based on user-input data of dog size, sleeping position, and bed foam choice.
Simple but effective features such as a custom loading screen, a transitioning background colour scheme of soothing colours and smooth web elements helps to take a simple website to the next level. The information architecture has also been considered, so as to not clutter the website with unnecessary features, leaving only what matters to the client and customer.
